Vitamin A is a Home Remedy for Acne

Acne outbreaks are one of the most hated things people have. Having acne is a troublesome ordeal for most people especially in the beauty industry and also for teenagers. Acne may sometimes be cystic, spreading more infection and inflammation to its surrounding areas. When treating acne, there are quite a lot of treatments available but most are expensive and will not really cure acne.

A good way to rid yourself of acne is having a healthy diet. In a healthy meal, we can find various nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that our bodies require. These nutrients help boost our immune system in fighting against diseases. Vitamin A specifically has gained quite a lot of medical attention over the years due to its anti-acne properties.

Vitamin A has various functions for the body. It helps the body in growth, reproduction, and vision. Not only does it help in those areas, it also serves in the improvement of the immune system by assisting the production of more white blood cells that fight off bacteria, viruses, and other disease causing invaders.

Vitamin A has gained the attention of the medical industry because of its ability to control and modify the creation of acne lesions. It is involved in the shedding of skin cells that cause acne. Acne occurs when a pore is clogged due to dead skin cells. Vitamin A assists by improving how the dead skin cells are being shed which reduces the chances of a clogged up pore leading to a pimple. When a pore is clogged up, the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes proliferates inside causing infection and acne. Medical studies have shown that low amounts of Vitamin A in the blood have led to more severe cases of cystic acne.

A well balanced meal with good sources and amounts of Vitamin A is a good step in fighting acne. You may not need expensive medical treatments for acne because you can simply use a home remedy for acne. Good sources of Vitamin A are from dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, and pumpkins. High amounts of Vitamin A can be found in the livers of beef, pork, chicken, and fish.

In the fight against acne, we do not need to be fancy in choosing products to treat acne. Let us save the money for more healthy meals that our body can benefit from. Healthy meals lead to a healthy body. Have a healthy balanced meal each day to fight off acne and other diseases.
