Skin Lightening Cream

Uneven skin tone can affect anybody, and can be caused by all sorts of different things. Acne scarring, UV damage or even hormonal imbalances can all lead to darker pigment patches appearing, and in some cases they can be very noticeable. It is possible to even out these areas, however it needs to be done slowly and carefully as essentially you are stripping excess pigment out of your skin with a skin care cream.

If you have had factors such as vitamin deficiancy and hormonal imbalance ruled out, then chances are you will be able to even out your complexion with the use of one of the many skin brightening creams that are available. It is very important to make sure that any skin blemishes are not indications of any underlying medical conditions, as not only will it make them very hard to treat with a skin lightening cream, but you may also be risking your long term health by not treating the cause, simply hiding the symptoms.

The amount of skin creams on the market claiming to be able to give you a smooth, even complexion is quite amazing, so you will need to pick your skin care products of choice carefully. Checking the active ingredients will give you a fair idea of whether or not a cream will be able to live up to it’s claims, so look out for ingredients such as Hydroquinone or Glycolic Acid. It will take a minimum of 3 weeks of regular use for any kind of complexion brightening cream to show any results, and for skin that has highly visible pigmentation it can take up to a year to really even out. It is worth noting that Hydroquinone can be too harsh for some peoples skin and this may result in sore or irritated looking skin. If this occurs then you will need to switch to a product that uses only Glycolic Acid or Tretinoin which will be gentler on your skin. If you are not sure which type of brightening skin care cream will work best for you then you will find many companies offer free samples so you can test your skin’s reaction before you buy, meaning you won’t risk wasting any money on a skin cream that is too harsh for your skin.
